Hace un tiempo, oí por radio que en Golgney, localidad cercana a Gowland, un matrimonio tuvo una experiencia de abducción muy parecida a la que sufrimos nosotros (mi mujer y yo).

James Byron Dean fue un conocido actor norteamericano que alcanzó la fama con un papel protagónico en la película «Al este del Eden» en el año 1954. Mientras rodaba la memorable película «Rebelde sin causa», adquirió su primer Porsche, un Spedster 356 y comenzaría a competir en carreras atraído por la adrenalina de las pistas.
Un año más tarde, compró un modelo exclusivo y limitado de Porsche: El 550 Spyder, de 110 caballos de fuerza y capaz de alcanzar 225 km/h. Dean lo bautizó como “Little Bastard”, en español: Pequeño bastardo. El número de bastidor del coche era 2Z77767, un número que según algunos expertos en numerología, traería mala suerte.
En efecto, en septiembre del mismo año, Dean murió en un trágico accidente mientras se dirigía a una carrera de autos en California.
Algún tiempo después, comenzó a trascender el rumor de que el auto estaba maldito. Nadie sabe con exactitud el motivo de semejante afirmación, lo cierto es que una serie de extraños acontecimientos comenzaron a sucederce inmediatamente después del accidente.
Una de las primeras historias sobre el «auto maldito» versa en que la ex novia de Dean, habría realizado magia negra luego de que el actor la hubiera dejado tras alcanzar la fama mundial. El dinero con el que había comprado su primer porsche, habría sido para la casa que ambos habían soñado. El mismo actor había reconocido en una entrevista algun tiempo atrás, que la joven se sentía atraída por las artes ocultas.
Cuando los restos del coche fueron llevados a un garaje, el motor se desprendió y cayó sobre las piernas del mecánico provocándole quebraduras.
El motor fue comprado luego por un médico llamado Troy McHenry y la caja de cambios del Litle Bastard fue adquirida por un corredor llamado William Eschrid. En una carrera en la que ambos competían McHenry chocaría contra un árbol pereciendo al instante y Eschrid perder´çia el control de su vehículo por fallos mecánicos y resultaría herido de gravedad.
Una tarde, un joven que pretendía robar una parte del coche para tener un objeto de la estrella, perdió el brazo en el intento de robar el volante, y el resto de la carrocería fue usada por la policía como ejemplo de los peligros de la carretera. El Porsche se guardaba en un garaje privado, que una noche ardió, y todos coches quedaros carbonizados, todos excepto extrañamente uno
Después, el automóvil del actor fue reconstruido.., y el garaje se incendió. Fue exhibido en Sacramento y cayó del pedestal, rompiendo la cadera a un adolescente. Más tarde, en Oregon, el camión que transportaba el coche patinó y se estrelló contra la fachada de una tienda. Finalmente, en 1959, se partió en 11 pedazos mientras estaba apoyado en una sólida base de acero.
